The Sanitation Department is responsible for collecting refuse for 3,200 residential and commercial customers. A roll-off service is also provided by request. The department accomplishes its responsibility with the employment of six full-time employees and one part-time employee along with two trash trucks and a roll-off truck.
The department provides a transfer station (with a compactor and an open-top roll off) that allows citizens to dump for free. This service is for residential customers only. Customers must provide proof of residency in the form of a utility bill. Customers are allowed to bring one pick-up load per customer per day. Trailers are allowed as long as they have a pick-up load or less.
The facility is located at 5th Street and Gardner Ave and is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Facility may be closed for holidays and during high winds.
